Gallop welcomes another top-notch Pleasure Stallion to its line up … NSBA World Champion, Its A Southern Thing. This 2010, 16 Hand Bay Stallion is a living breathing tribute to careful and considerate breeding of the American Quarter Horse. This great young stallion has an outstanding pedigree with the movement and mind of a champion. Its A Southern Thing (A.K.A. "MoonPie"), is the son of Congress Champion and leading AQHA Sire, Only In The Moonlight who’s offspring have earned numerous World and Congress titles. The pedigree of this stallions dam line is nothing short of spectacular. His Dam, Shesa Hot Cookie is a Congress Champion (three-times over), and has produced an abundant amount to Congress, World, and multiple Futurity Champions.

Its A Southern Thing’s show career includes: AQHA 2015 World Show - Reserve Champion Level 2 Western Riding; AQHA 2015 World Show - Bronze Champion - Level 2 Western Pleasure; AQHA 2015 World Show - 7th Jr. Western Pleasure; NSBA 2015 World Champion - Jr. Western Riding; NSBA 2015 Reserve World Champion - Jr. Western Pleasure; Superior Award Earner in Jr. Western Pleasure; Superior Award Earner in Jr. Western Riding; Congress 2014 - Top 5 Green Hunter Under Saddle; Congress 2014 - 6th in the Green Western Riding at 2014 Congress (out of 118 entries); and Congress 2012 – Top-Five Masters Western Pleasure Class Winner.

Its A Southern Thing’s champion bloodlines, correct conformation, kind nature, and stellar performances at the peak of competition make him a prime candidate for breeding success. His foals are noting sort of phenomenal because he’s doing what a true sire should do, out siring himself!

Gallop is honored to have this breeding available as Its A Southern Thing was booked full for 2016 by February 15th. His overall conception rate for that same year utilizing fresh, cooled, and frozen semen was 91.8%. His foals are eligible for: AQHA Incentive Fund, APHA BT, KyQHA BIF, NSBA Incentive Fund and BCF, Southern Belle Futurity, and Tom Powers Futurity. He is tested negative for GBED, HERDA, HYPP, PSSM1, and MH. Additionally, he is OLWS – Negative. Its A Southern Thing has brought the fun back to pleasure horses. An outstanding mover that can work the rail, and has the talent to bring the house down with his performance horse moves. He truly exemplifies the versatility of today’s modern Quarter Horse. Its A Southern Thing has a proven show record and the foals he has sired are amazing. With being a force to reckon with in the show pen, Its A Southern Thing is now on track to become a great sire as well.
